MADURAI: DMK president and Leader of Opposition in Tamil Nadu Assembly Mr.M.K.Stalin has condemned the State Government’s decision to open TASMAC liquor shops from 7th May.
“Citing a neighbouring State as reason and opening of TASMAC shops in Tamil Nadu is a very risky decision at this critical time when Coronavirus positive cases are spiking. It leads to crowding and puts the people at risk. The announcement made by the government that liquor shops will be open from 10 am to 5 pm from 7th May is shocking,” Mr.Stalin has said in a press statement issued last night.
He said that the Tamil Nadu government must boldly ask the Centre to give the GST revenue share due to Tamil Nadu instead of opening liquor shops in the State.
