MADURAI: Corporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan had personally received 27 petitions at the public grievance meeting conducted for residents of Zone-3 by the Madurai Corporation here today- 18th February 2020.
The representations he received pertain to drinking water, underground drainage, house tax, roads, streetlights etc. Mr.Visakan had directed the corporation authorities to take steps within one week and also hinted that action will be taken against staff if they do not attend to the public grievances.
He also told the civic body staff to tell people about the importance of rainwater harvesting structures that should be there in every home. For Pandhadi area, he told the officials to take steps for additional water tap for the convenience of people there.

The Madurai Corporation Commissioner Mr.Visakan later inspected the works going on at Periyar Busstand and the multi-level parking facility being constructed near Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple here.
Senior Corporation officials including Mrs.Vijaya, Mr.Palanisamy, Mr.Rajendran, and Mr.Jayaram Raj were among those present.
