MADURAI: The Madurai Corporation today stepped up its campaign of developing Madurai as ‘Clean City Smart City’ by involving the people to achieve the goal through a public program in association with Radio Mirchi.
Cooperation Minister Mr.Sellur K Raju and Madurai Corporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan led the clean and smart city drive from Teppakulam here by urging the people of this city to participate in this mission. Special programs were held on 1st and 2nd February 2020 involving the students, local people, general public and representatives who can influence the Madurai Smart City project, through various events.
Vaigai River cleaning, garbage dumping in proper way, saving the water sources of Madurai city and creating a new Madurai in two years with cleanliness, hygiene, infrastructure and sanitation etc are the stated objectives, according to a press release received from Madurai Corporation here today.
Senior officials of Madurai Corporation from various departments including Mrs.V.Nagajothi and Chief Engineer Mr.Arasu were among those present at today’s clean city awareness program in Madurai.
