MADURAI: An important public announcement was made by the railways here today informing that Vaigai Express from Madurai and the Pallavan Express starting from Karaikudi will go only up to Villupuram on two Wednesdays- on September 22nd September 29th. This partial cancellation of these two trains is because of railway track works going on at Madurantakam. “On September 22nd and September 29th (both Wednesdays), the Madurai-Chennai- Madurai Vaigai Express train will be stopped at Villupuram itself due to track works underway at Madurantakam railway station. Vaigai Express will not go up to Chennai Egmore on that day. The same is with Karaikudi-Chennai-Karaikudi Pallavan express train which is also partially cancelled between Villupuram and Chennai section in view of ongoing railway track works in Madurantakam,” a press release received from the Madurai Division of Southern Railway here on 21st September had informed.
