MADURAI: Tamil Nadu Revenue Minister Mr.R.B.Udayakumar has today said that the request- demand- plea to declare Madurai as second capital of the State is justified because it brings a holistic development for the people of Tamil nadu.

“When we are asking for announcing Madurai as second capital of Tamil Nadu, there is a reason for that. People’s welfare and convenience are important. The capital can be anywhere between Madurai and Tiruchi, or between Madurai and Dindigul….like that. But the demand for a second capital for Tamil Nadu after Chennai is the need of the hour,” Minister Mr.R.B.Udayakumar has said while speaking at an exclusive ‘Madurai Second Capital’ meeting organized by all chambers of commerce in southern districts with the initiative of Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry here on 21st August 2020.

The Revenue Minister had commended the role of MADITSSIA and its president Mr.Muruganantham and his team in taking up several developmental ideas for Madurai region. Mr.Udayakumar also lauded the role being played by Tamil Nadu Chamber led by president Mr.N.Jegatheesan and senior president Mr.S.Rethinavelu and their members.
