Entomologists’ Association lauds Dr.Kolandaisamy

MADURAI: The Tamil Nadu Public Health Entomologists’ Association has complimented and lauded the role played by Dr.K.Kolandaisamy who had retired on 30th April 2020 after a distinguished service as Director of Public Health of Government of Tamil Nadu.

Office-bearers and members of the association had recalled the effective and efficient leadership provided by him through his knowledge, experience, accessibility and simplicity during the several positions he held in the Directorate of Public Health and Preventive Medicine.

“Dr.Kolandaisamy had worked in various capacities in many districts and in headquarters. As Director of Public Health for a period nearly seven years, he spearheaded the implementation of many public health schemes in our State especially giving his guidance for disaster management,” the association said appreciating the just retired DPH.

Tamil Nadu Public Health Entomologists’ Association office-bearers – president Mr.J.Kirupa, secretary Dr.T.John Victor, joint secretary Mr.R.Varatharaj and others – have recalled Dr.Kolandaisamy’s efforts in monitoring daily fever surveillance, dengue control, chikungunya management, mother child health care and prevention of infectious diseases in districts. (Even during the current Coronavirus pandemic, he had round-the-clock monitored the situation).

NEW DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC HEALTH:

The Entomologists’ Association has also greeted the new Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine Dr.Selva Vinayagam who had assumed charge on 1st May 2020 following the retirement of Dr.K.Kolandaisamy.
