MADURAI: ‘Kalaikalam’, an event to showcase the greatness of Tamil language, ancient Tamil culture and tradition among school and college students through cultural and literary competitions is yielding good results thanks to the efforts being made by the Institute of Road and Transport Technology (IRTTAA), Erode.
As a part of this State-level program this year, an exciting ‘Kalaikalam’ show was organized in Madurai on 16th February 2020 at Pandian Saraswathi Yadav Engineering College in which 250 students from various institutions took part in competitions including oratory, essay writing, drawing, folk dance and poetry etc.
RICH TAMIL HERITAGE:
Those who addressed the students had highlighted the need to know more about rich and ancient Tamil heritage. Mr.Ilasai Sundaram, retired Director of All India Radio-Madurai, delivered special address.
Mr.S.P.Varadarajan, Managing Director, Pandian Saraswathi Yadav Engineering College, Mr.G.Sampathkumar, president, IRTTAA and Mr.Thamarai Kannan, general secretary, have lauded the interest shown by students to take part in ‘Kalaikalam’ competitions and congratulated the winners.

Mr.G.Kumaraguru Paran, one of the members of organizing team for Madurai, has said that the response was very good and right message was sent out about Tamil culture through different competitions.
Among those who made arrangements to conduct the event in Madurai include Mr.Manivannan, Mr.Balasubramanian, Mr.Shankar, Parameswari, Mr.Palani and Mr.Ilango.
