For male infertility treatment, Madurai Apollo Hospital starts Specialised Andrology Clinic with top expert doctors

MADURAI: The Apollo Speciality Hospitals in Madurai has started a Specialised Andrology Clinic with all under one roof comprehensive diagnostic and medical facilities for treatment of male infertility and reproductive health disorders among men.

This Specialised Andrology Clinic will provide advanced procedures for male infertility, low sperm count, erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, varicocele, penile abnormalities, male hormonal disorders and various other reproductive health issues.

At a press meet conducted at Apollo Hospital in Madurai today, expert andrologists told reporters that the specialised andrology clinic was started at Apollo Speciality Hospital here because infertility among men is a very important issue these days.

“We will diagnose the reasons for infertility and treat that particular male person by maintaining all his privacy and confidentiality. Besides giving medical attention, this centre will also provide psychosexual counselling, premarital male fertility assessment, fertility counselling, specialised sperm retrieval procedures, minimally invasive surgical procedures etc,” Dr.R.Vishnuraja, consultant urologist and andrologist, has said on July 21st 2026.

He pointed out that 10 per cent of men have infertility problem but only a few of them are going for treatment due to stigma and hesitation to discuss this sensitive matter openly. Stating that male infertility issues can be treated at the Apollo’s specialised clinic here, Dr.Vishnuraja said that there are multiple reasons for infertility among men and the important ones are smoking and alcohol.

Dr.K.Shankar, consultant urologist and andrologist, had stressed that male infertility contributes to nearly half of all cases among couples and the Specialised Andrology Clinic started at Apollo Hospital in Madurai will be a all under one roof facility to solve infertility issues.

Dr.Nikhil Tiwari, Chief Operating Officer of Apollo Hospitals-Madurai Cluster and Dr.P.Shobana, medical superintendent at Apollo Speciality Hospitals in Madurai, were present at the press conference here today morning.

The Specialised Andrology Clinic at Madurai Apollo will function from Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm with walk-in and online consultations by expert doctors of the hospital’s Urology and Andrology Department.
