MADURAI: Mr.S.Hithesh from Madurai has won bronze medal for India at the ISSF World Championship 2026 held in Suhl, Germany.

A 3rd year mechanical engineering student of Sethu Institute of Technology here, he secured bronze medal in the 50 Meter Rifle 3 Positions Junior Men Team Event at the ISSF Junior World Championship taking place in Germany from June 16th to June 26th 2026, according to a press release in Madurai today morning.

“Mr.S.Hithesh (21 years) had bagged bronze medal and this remarkable achievement on global stage is a proof of his dedication, perseverance and commitment in shooting sports. This young medalist had expressed gratitude to his coach Mr.S.Velshankar, secretary of Madurai Rifle Club for his guidance and encouragement,” the press release added.

Hithesh hails from a middle class family and his parents are Mr.S.Sreenivasan and Mrs.Lingammal, and the accomplishment at world championship 2026 of International Shooting Sport Federation is a matter of pride to Madurai, Tamil Nadu and our nation because the medal will inspire aspiring sports persons, the press release said.
