Yoga welcomes 1st yr induction at GTN campus; Dindigul shows its health potential for students

MADURAI: The student induction programme for academic year 2026-27 had started on a healthy note at G.T.N.Arts College campus in Dindigul yesterday thanks to the special initiative taken for students’ health by the college management.

As a part of that important exercise for fresh students, an exclusive initiative was also taken by the Department of Physical Education of G.T.N.Arts College (Autonomous) yesterday-June 23rd 2026- to showcase the health potential of yoga and aerobic dancing to the first year undergraduate students at their induction event held in the college campus in Dindigul yesterday.

Dr.M.Inbalakshmi, Principal in-charge, G.T.N.Arts College-Dindigul and Dr.N.Rajasekar, Director of Physical Education, G.T.N.Arts College-Dindigul spoke about the importance of yoga and aerobics in college campus while Mr.P.Bangarusamy and Dr.P.Sugumaran had focused on aerobic exercises for students’ health, according to a press release from college campus yesterday.

Students from the Physical Education Department had demonstrated yoga and aerobic dance to create health awareness among first year UG students and the college staff including Dr.P.Pandiammal, convenor, SIP and Dr.S.Amutha, co-convenor-SIP were among those present to motivate the first year UG students of G.T.N.Arts College (Autonomous) in Dindigul with their motivation session at the UGC-Ten Day Student Induction Programme (SIP 2026-2027) held on June 23rd 2026, according to a press release from the college here yesterday.
