What Madurai wants from new CM Joseph Vijay?: MADITSSIA submits list and extends full support

MADURAI: Extending its congrats and greetings to the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Mr.C.Joseph Vijay today, top trade body MADITSSIA has put forward its list of requests and expectations for Madurai region.

In a press release here on May 11th 2026, the Madurai District Tiny & Small Scale Industries Association (MADITSSIA) had urged the new Chief Minister Mr.C.Joseph Vijay and his government to take constructive measures for uplifting MSME sector which is important for State development.

“We urge Vijay government to expedite the SIPCOT project in Melur and also establish five more industrial estates with each spanning 500 acres in every 20 kms distance along the Madurai-Thoothukudi industrial corridor. We also want the new CM to find a permanent solution for electricity tariff challenges being faced by small scale industries,” MADITSSIA president Mr.A.Senthikumar has said in a press release from Madurai on May 11th 2026.

The association had pleaded that industrial policies should be simplified to create new job opportunities for youth and MADITSSIA also requested the new government in Tamil Nadu to facilitate collateral-free loans for MSMEs through TIIC under a Tamil Nadu Credit Guarantee Scheme.

Mr.A.Senthikumar had further urged Vijay government to speed up the expansion work of Madurai international airport. “MADITSSIA pledges its full cooperation to efforts taken by CM Mr.C.Joseph Vijay for development of Tamil Nadu and its industrial progress,” he added.
