SARA Foundation started in Madurai with focus on education; holds event on how libraries will empower lives

MADURAI: In a special initiative towards shaping the future leaders with moral and social awareness, SARA Foundation was started in Madurai as Society for Academic Research and Social Achievement by defining its vision to provide a future where education empowers every child to learn, grow and succeed regardless of background or ability.

SARA Foundation which was started on April 2nd 2026 had organized its first event in Madurai by conducting a seminar on ‘importance of libraries in education and life’ on April 26th 2026.

Dr.Dhineshkumar, Chief Librarian and Information Officer, Kalaignar Centenary Library-Madurai and Dr.R.Baskaran, former Regional Director of Collegiate Education (Madurai & Tirunelveli), were invited as special guests to speak on how libraries play a key role in education and enriching life as gateways to knowledge.

Prof.G.Ramamoorthy, chairman, SARA Foundation, has said that useful seminars and meetings will be conducted regularly for the benefit of general public and younger generation.

SCREENING OF SHORT FILM:

The foundation also arranged a screening of award-winning short film “A Dinner-One Table Four Hearts” which is a heartfelt story that reflects family bonds, emotions and awareness on parenting, Prof.G.Ramamoorthy has said in a press release here yesterday and added that the film gave more guidance to the parents of autism children.

“Director of film Mr.Ganesh Ramamoorthy had thanked Mr.Chandrasekaran of special child care centre and Prof.Prabhakaran, Priya Babu, founder, transgender organisation for their help. The seminar was a success thanks to the arrangements made by founder Sindhu Ganesh along with Sowmiya and Saratha,” the press release added.
