‘PENPRENEUR’ networking forum of women entrepreneurs launched in Madurai for their business growth

MADURAI: An exclusive business networking platform for women entrepreneurs called ‘Penpreneur’ was launched in Madurai on April 20th 2026 to empower businesswomen through a dedicated ecosystem for achieving their business growth, market expansion and a distinct brand identity.

The Madurai chapter of ‘Penpreneur’ which took shape under the aegis of VAPS Training Centre here, was inaugurated by Ms.Visalakshi Kannan, Director, Thiagarajar Mills and founder of Pacific Cotton-USA, along with Mr.R.Rajapandian, Divisional Retail Head, Indian Oil Corporation Limited.

This women entrepreneurs network forum will be a catalyst to empower mid-scale women entrepreneurs in their business journey via referral based networking and collaborative growth, according to a press release here yesterday.

While addressing the women entrepreneurs from various sectors in Madurai, Ms.Visalakshi Kannan had emphasized the psychological and strategic pillars of successful entrepreneurship.

“The strength of any business lies in the clarity of why it was started. A well defined business plan, self-confidence and clear objectives are essential for sustainable growth,” she added.

Ms.R.Elamathi, Director of Green Fem, who spoke on the need for ‘sisterhood in business’ has said that ‘Penpreneur’ is designed to be a platform where mutual support, networking and a shared empathy form the foundation and it will be a space where women entrepreneurs can grow together by lifting each other up.

Mr.S.A.Arul, secretary, VAPS and Mr.R.Rajapandian from IOC spoke on entrepreneurial success, collaborative growth, professional mentorship, market positioning and emotional intelligence in business. Mr.G.Ramakrishnan, Team Leader at VAPS, welcomed the gathering while Dr.M.Subburajan, Team Leader, VAPS, had proposed a vote of thanks.

The inaugural event was attended by over 30 women entrepreneurs from various sectors in Madurai and they got a clarity on purpose-driven growth, the press release said.
