MADURAI: The 156th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi was celebrated in his typical style of cleanliness at Madurai Railway Junction here today- October 2nd 2025.
Mr.Om Prakash Meena, Divisional Railway Manager, Madurai Division of Southern Railway, had garlanded the portrait of Gandhiji and paid floral tributes at DRM office here today morning and began the cleanliness drive, according to a railway press release here today.
Additional Divisional Railway Manager Mr.L.N.Rao, Chief Project Manager of Gati Sakthi Unit Mr.K.Harikumar and Divisional Environment chief Mr.Gundewar Badal K. were among those present along with housekeeping team and other railway staff in Madurai.
A walkathon through the railway colony was conducted in Madurai today-October 2nd 2025-with the support of Madurai-based NGO Voice Trust team led by its Director Mr.T.Murugesan for cleaning the railway premises and tree plantation, the railway press release has said.
