MADURAI: A special lecture on ‘understanding menstrual health and hygiene’ was organized for the girl students of Nagarathinam Angalammal Arts and Science College in Madurai on July 29th 2025.
The Women’s Studies Centre of Madurai Kamaraj University and Women’s Empowerment Cell of NAAS College have jointly organized the lecture to educate college girls about menstrual hygiene and management, dispelling myths and promoting healthy practices.
Mrs.Valarmathi Rathnakumar, president, Femi9 and AS Foundation at Erode, had delivered the lecture by emphasizing the importance of understanding about menstrual health, according to a press release from the college.
Dr.R.Radhika Devi, Director in-charge, Women’s Studies Centre-MKU, had welcomed the gathering while Mrs.R.Aruna, chairperson, Women’s Empowerment Cell at NAAS College, had proposed a vote of thanks.
Dr.V.Vasanthakumar, Principal, had highlighted the significance of this lecture which was attended by more than 200 girl students. He thanked the college chairman Dr.S.Nagarathinam and Secretary-Correspondent Dr.N.Jegatheesan for their support to hold the lecture event.
