MADURAI: As a part of dengue control awareness programme held in Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) here today- June 26th 2025, an expert scientist in vector borne diseases had collected mosquito samples for scientific study.
Along with MKU students, the retired scientist of ICMR-Vector Control Research Centre in Madurai Dr.T.Mariappan had engaged a few varsity students and collected field samples in MKU quarters where the staff and their families reside, and mosquito samples were also collected from the campus garden water tank, according to university sources.
He delivered a lecture on dengue control in the School of Energy, Environment and Natural Resources of MKU here today to create awareness among students and this lecture had helped to give a practical internship opportunity for them to know about mosquito control in the vast campus.
