MADURAI: To increase the outreach of Passport Seva Program, a mobile passport seva camp was launched from Dhanushkodi in Ramanathapuram district in Tamil Nadu on June 14th 2025 thereby making passport related services easy through passport seva mobile van that covers areas for an easy access.

This is an initiative of the Ministry of External Affairs to expand the passport seva outreach to all citizens, according to a press release.

Dr.K.J.Srinivasa, Joint Secretary (PSP) and Chief Passport Officer in the Ministry, had flagged off a new mobile passport seva van at Aricha Munai in Dhanushkodi and this facility will enable the people of 10 districts under the Madurai Regional Passport Office to receive passport services in their area without requiring to travel long distance.

The press release said that Dr.Srinivasa also launched a mobile passport seva camp at Ramakrishnapuram village of Rameswaram island where applicants received the passport services. He also visited the passport office in Madurai and post office passport kendra at Ramanathapuram.

“He had reviewed the functioning of PSP version 2.0 and directed the officials to ensure time bound delivery of passports and effective redressal of public grievances. He appreciated the passport office team post office team for timely commencement of passport related services for the citizens under the new version of PSP providing e-passports,” the press release added.
