MADURAI: The Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry has today urged Chief Minister Mr.M.K.Stalin to consider holding the next Global Investors Meet in Madurai for catalyzing the growth of southern districts in the State.
A memorandum was submitted by the TN Chamber with three important requests and the first appeal is to conduct the next January-scheduled Global Investors Meet in Madurai.
“The Government of Tamil Nadu has been organizing Global Investors Meet with the aim of bringing together international investors, industry leaders, government representatives and experts on a common platform. Compared to the northern and western districts of Tamil Nadu, the industrial and economic development in southern region remains underdeveloped. So, we request that the next upcoming Global Investors Meet be hosted in Madurai,” Dr.N.Jegatheesan, president, Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has said in the memorandum to the Chief Minister on June 1st 2025.
He pointed out that with a population of 2.5 crores, south Tamil Nadu which comprises Madurai and 13 other districts stands to benefit if major industries are established in this region.
“It will create local employment opportunities especially for the students graduating from the more than 170 engineering colleges in the southern region. We appeal to the Chief Minister to catalyze the growth by holding the Global Investors Meet in Madurai in next January,” the TN Chamber has urged in its memorandum on June 1st 2025.
