MADURAI: Dr.J.Paul Jayakar, Associate Professor and Head of Postgraduate and Research Department of English, has been selected as the new Principal of The American College in Madurai after the interviews process held in the campus today-May 31st 2025.
The selection process for appointment of new Principal was conducted today by convening an emergency meeting of the governing council of American College and the agenda items for discussion also included appointment of college Secretary.
Dr.Paul Jayakar takes over from Dr.M.Davamani Christober who retired today after a long innings of service and due to his suspension by the Directorate of Collegiate Education just one day before his retirement due to DVAC probe, he technically takes charge from Prof.Kannabiran who was made the Principal in-charge till the selection process was conducted today. The college management and staff members had congratulated the new Principal who will assume charge soon.
