MADURAI: The State president of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Dr.Tamilisai Soundararajan has said that the BJP will work hard to be a champion in Tamil Nadu but will not be a pillion or piggy ride on some body’s back for its presence or political success.

“We will not ride on somebody’s back…..We can win one day in Tamil Nadu also….Why should our party support EPS-OPS? It is wrong to say or assume that the BJP is remote controlling the AIADMK and my question is why should we control a leading political party in this State?,” she questioned.

Dr.Tamilisai Soundararajan was replying to a volley of questions in an interview on Sun News TV channel on Sunday (August 27th 2017).

She also dismissed the rumours that BJP national president Mr.Amit Shah’s proposed visit to Tamil Nadu from August 22nd to 24th got postponed because of the EPS-OPS factions merger waiting.

“How can we do that….Both their factions or groups realised that unity and coming together is good for the AIADMK….So, it is wrong to say that Mr.Modi or Mr.Amit Shah are behind…..the visit is not linked to this,” she said.

The State BJP president had exuded confidence that the BJP symbol Lotus will bloom in Tamil Nadu sooner or later and that the women and youth of the State will standby Mr.Modi and the BJP.

“BJP is not like other parties…..It is the party with a difference and there is no need to respond to criticisms of the Communists or any other personal criticism against me in the social media,” Dr.Tamilisai has said.
