MADURAI: The 31st inter-divisional Railway Protection Force (RPF) Kabaddi tournament began in Madurai today morning. This tournament which is being held on March 3rd and 4th 2023 here was inaugurated at the opening ceremony held at Red Field Ground in Madurai.
Ms.R.P.Rathi Priya (IRTS), Senior Divisional Commerce Manager, was the chief guest and attended by Mr.P.Satheesh Saravanan, Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer, Mr.T.Sankaran, Divisional Personal Officer, Mr.V.J.P.Anbarasu, Divisional Security Commissioner-RPF, Mr.R.Subhash, RPF assistant commissioner and other railway officials.
In the first Kabaddi match of this tournament held today morning- on March 3rd 2023, the Madurai team had won against Chennai team by scoring 13 points more. (While Madurai team scored 36, the Chennai team got 23).
A press release received from the Madurai Division of Southern Railway has informed that RPF teams from Chennai, Tiruchi, Madurai, Thiruvananthapuram and Salem divisions of Southern Railway are participating in this inter-division kabaddi tournament.
The final match and closing ceremony of this tournament will be held on 4th March 2023 at 4 pm. Mr.P.Ananth, Divisional Railway Manager-Madurai Division, will be the chief guest for prize distribution and closing ceremony.
