MADURAI: The Consortium of Service Organizations in Tamil Nadu (CONSORT) will organize a special event in Madurai on August 21st 2026 to celebrate Senior Citizens Day.
Former Governor of Telangana Dr.Tamilisai Soundararajan will participate in this event which will have a workshop on issues concerning the senior citizens.
A meeting of CONSORT was held at CED campus here on July 13th 2026 where it was decided to celebrate the senior citizens day and also honour five eminent senior citizens from five fields- education, civil services, legal profession, health and social service.
Dr.R.Jayaraman, Managing Trustee of CED (Tamil Nadu) Madurai, had presided over the meeting yesterday while Dr.T.Arumugam, former Vice-Chancellor of Thiruvalluvar University, was inducted as a trustee of CONSORT, according to a press release here yesterday.
