MADURAI: The Tamil Nadu Science Forum (TNSF))-Madurai District Unit had announced on May 30th 2026 that it will take an active part in various important public issues that are concerning the future of students and general public in the region.

At the executive committee meeting of Madurai District of Tamil Nadu Science Forum held in Madurai yesterday, the TNSF Madurai District team had passed a few important resolutions on NEET exam, clean Madurai city with good solid waste management and anguish over the delay in Keeladi report.

“The EC meeting of TNSF Madurai district was held in Madurai on May 30th 2026 under the chairmanship of district president Dr.Antony Paul. One important resolution that was passed in this meeting was about NEET exam that is mired in complications and malpractices. This year in 2026, it had reached the peak when NEET question paper was leaked in several parts of India. Our TNSF requests that medical admissions for this year be conducted based on Plus Two marks and NEET exam must be legally abolished in future,” Dr.K.Kannan, secretary, Tamil Nadu Science Forum-Madurai District, has said in a press note here today.

The TNSF Madurai District unit has also condemned that delay in approving the Keeladi report by archaeologist Dr.Amarnath Ramakrishnan in Tamil Nadu.

“The Government of India has been delaying and rejecting the Keeladi report without approval. We have already organized an online signature campaign and a seminar by scientists. Now, it has been resolved to continue this Keeladi movement and other issues by mobilizing college students,” Dr.K.Kannan has said in the press note (tnsfmdu&gmail.com).

On the issue of clean Madurai city, the TNSF Madurai District team had pointed out that Madurai Corporation is far behind in solid waste management. “To analyze the reasons and find solutions, it has been resolved to to conduct a conference in September on the theme “Masilla Madurai Corporation”-Pollution Free Madurai City”.
