MADURAI: Good ideas from good people will give great results. These words are being proven with deeds in the classrooms of N.M.R.Subbaraman Memorial Residential Primary School situated at Dr.Thangaraj Road (near Government Law College/Commercial Taxes Office) in Madurai, thanks to a few committed persons who rallied behind the students there to equip them with English skills.
Free English classes are being conducted for the children of Classes IV and V in a simple and easy manner to empower the kids with spoken English and three persons are involved in this special initiative-Prof.R.Raja Govindasamy, Dr.S.Vincent and Dr.M.Lawrence.
“This is a very satisfying moment for me personally because these little children will become fluent in English soon if they pick up the language at this young age. Our thanks to the Rotary Club of Madurai West for helping us to conduct free classes with the name Let’s Speak English,” school president and senior High Court advocate Mr.K.Samidurai has said at the inauguration of free classes held on March 2nd 2026.
Prof.R.Raja Govindasamy, past district governor of Rotary International District 3000 and a renowned trainer, is conducting the free English classes in his own inimitable style so that children get a good grasp of the language.
“We must thank Dr.S.Vincent and Dr.M.Lawrence for preparing a very good basic English workbook it is given to every student. There are 40 students of fourth and fifth class of this NMR Subbaraman School who are attending the class daily. Our objective is to put them focused on conversing in English through our simple easy classes conducted on activity based learning. Really the school is being well maintained,” Prof.Raja Govindasamy has said speaking to ‘Lotus Times’ media in Madurai today.
Mr.V.Chandran, school Headmaster and others were present at the inaugural session along with Dr.Vincent and school staff.
