‘Kanchi Mahaperiyava’ is a God and Guide for our life: Intellectual icon Prof.Raama Sreenivasan presents awards in Madurai

MADURAI: Four distinguished persons from different fields were presented and honoured with ‘Sri Maha Periyava Awards’ in Madurai today for their selfless service to the society.

Madurai-based ‘Anushathin Anugraham’ which carries out various activities in the name of spiritual icon and great sage Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati who is the most revered Kanchi pontiff had presented awards here today- December 16th 2025- after performing special ‘aaradhanai’ to mark ‘Anusham’ festival at S.S.Colony in Madurai.

The award recipients were Dr.R.Balagurusamy, Managing Trustee of Aishwaryam Trust-Madurai, Mr.V.Kannan, Vedas teacher from TVS Nagar in Madurai, Mr.V.Ravi, president, Tamizhnadu Brahmin Association (TAMBRAS-Madurai) and Mrs.Maheswari Venkatraman, Veena vidwan at All India Radio-Madurai.

Intellectual icon and BJP State general secretary Prof.Raama Sreenivasan had presented the awards in Madurai today afternoon after special pujas were performed to Kanchi Maha Periyava.

“The Kanchi Maha Periyava is a God and a Guide for us in our life. He lived as a great sage with humility. It is not just enough if we do prayers and pujas to him….He taught the ‘Sanathan Dharma’ in a right simple easy way which could be understood by all of us. Read his great discourses collection book….’Deivathin Kural’….The Kanchi seer is a sage of different dimensions. For understanding Hindu dharma, we must read what he had said in ‘Deivathin Kural’ because it was the voice of the God for devotees,” BJP leader Prof.Raama Sreenivasan had stressed in Madurai today while addressing the large gathering of Kanchi Mutt devotees.

He lauded the commendable work being done by Mr.Nellai Balu who is undertaking various activities in Madurai in the name of Kanchi Maha Periyava to help the society and devotees through his Trust and social work.
