Adyar Cancer Institute receives AI and Virtual Reality equipment for pain rehabilitation of cancer patients

CHENNAI: India’s leading landmark destination for cancer treatment-Adyar Cancer Institute in Chennai- has received digital therapeutic platform that is empowered with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Virtual Reality Therapy features for rehablitation of cancer patients.

This equipment was donated by ReWin Health in association with Rotary Club of Chennai Coastal, according to a press release here on December 9th 2025.

The digital therapeutic platform with AI-based motion sensor and VR therapy will help Adyar Cancer Institute to use cutting edge technology for giving relief and rehabilitaiton to cancer patients whose mental health becomes very important during treatment process.

“Virtual Reality systems play an important role in cancer rehabilitation…..by using headsets/game controllers to immerse cancer patients in calming or relax environment, to reduce pain, anxiety, nausea during chemotherapy etc.,” the press release added.

Mr.Vijay Karunakaran, Founder and CEO of ReWin Health, had presented the digital therapeutic equipment to Adyar Cancer Institute at a simple function which was presided over by Mr.Vinod Saraogi, Rotary District Governor (District 3234) along with Adyar Cancer Institute Director Dr.Kalpana Balakrishnan and president of Rotary Club of Chennai Coastal Mr.Navin Gupta.

“The Rotary District Governor Mr.Vinod Saraogi had lauded the noble effort of donating VR equipment worth Rs.25 lakhs along with five years annual maintenance contract while the Rotary Club president Mr.Navin Gupta had stressed that rehabilitation therapy reaches all strata of society. Dr.Kalpana Balakrishnan, Adyar Cancer Institute Director had thanked the service initiatives of Rotary Club of Chennai Coastal and ReWin Health for making VR accessible in the institute and it will have a positive impact,” the press release has informed.
