MADURAI: The firecrackers festival Deepavali is over and people are back to their routine fro their holidays.
But, the political firecrackers have started already in Tamil Nadu in the last two days and are going at rocket speed particularly after AIADMK senior leader from Madurai and Deputy Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Mr.R.B.Udhayakumar’s comments became a talking point right now after his caution message to the actor.
A political analyst, who appears in the media and TV debates almost daily with good contacts with all political parties especially the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) of actor Vijay, has authentically said that the actor is now not at all in a mood to come to the public domain again after the Karur tragedy last month which took over 40 lives while the actor was campaogning in Karur.
“The information and my understanding is that there will be no more public campaign by Vijay. This is certain for the next three months till his awaited film ‘Jana Nayagan’ hits the screens in theatres in Tamil Nadu and outside. His party’s top office-bearers are not ready to go out at this stage. So, TVK will be a press releases party giving some political statements. It all appears that Vijay will join the NDA even though he publicly declared that BJP is his ideological enemy. At least for now, Vijay will not do campaigning and let us see what happens after the 2026 Pongal festival,” the political analyst has said over phone today.
Political analysts also point out that TVK is now in a hapless and helpless position after Karur tragedy and the party president cannot take any action against TVK general secretary Mr.N.Anand alias Bussy Anand even though there are demands for his replacement on moral grounds.
“Bussy Anand will neither go out himself nor will allow actor Vijay to go out for campaigning. At the same time Vijay is positively inclined towards the AIADMK. But the AIADMK however looks strongly committed to the BJP for 2026 Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. So, actor Vijay’s TVK will be forced to join the NDA alliance after Pongal festival ‘Jallikattu’ because Vijay needs AIADMK support at this stage,” a political analyst has said today- October 23rd 2025.
Meanwhile, TVK functionaries at senior level told ‘Lotus Times’ media today that Vijay is waiting for the 30 days period to be over because it is sentimentally and emotionally important for the affected families who lost their kith and kin in Karur tragedy.
“TVK is is a freeze mode now.The party postings for various levels got halted for last one month. Our party is in a silent mode as on date. There is no communication at all from the top for district level cadres. We were told that Vijay will go to Karur soon to meet the families. We are also in doubt about what is going to happen for political alliance with AIADMK. Everything is confused presently but our loyalty to actor Vijay for his commitment to Tamil Nadu people will continue whatever be the alliance shape,” a party functionary has said in Madurai today.
The inference to be drawn from the talk with TVK functionaries and political analysts is that there is going to be REAL POLITICAL ACTION THRILLER from Vikay’s TVK in the month of January 2026 after his reel film ‘Jana Nayagan’ is released.
