MADURAI: The Indian Railways has been carrying out a public awareness drive about its new integrated mobile app called ‘RailOne’ which was introduced for the convenience of train passengers a few months back.
With this new ‘RailOne’ App which goes with a tagline ‘virtual train friendship’, those who want to travel by train can easily book reserved tickets, Tatkal tickets, unreserved tickets, platform tickets and season tickets.
“Earlier, there used to be seprarate applications for IRCTC, NTES and UTS Mobile for train tickets and train info. Now, there is an integrated app ‘RailOne’ with which you can also get train timetable, details of trains operating between two railway stations, when a particular train passes through a location and details of trains arriving and departing from a particular railway station. The ‘Rail One’ app can also be used to arrange breakfast, lunch and dinner on the train or at the station,” a press release issued by the Southern Railway Madurai Division here today-October 14th 2025- has said.
This app can also be used for train ticketfare refund, store money in R-Wallet for electronic money transfer, register complaints in ‘Rail Madad’ etc.
“Ticket/PNR status and coach position for a particular train can be seen by using the ‘Rail One’ app. Unreserved train ticket can be booked outside the railway station as usual or inside the railway station by scanning QR code advertised at the railway station. Passengers can link their Aadhaar ID card with thier Rail One account for tatkal ticket booking,” the railway press release has informed today.
In the coming days, this app will be enhanced to handle parcel registration in passenger trains and cargo registration in goods trains. More importantly, this app will enable watch OTT movies and webseries free of cost while travelling by train by using ‘Go to Waves’ icon of the app.
“Existing users of IRCTC and UTS mobile apps can use thier existing username and passoword for thre ‘Rail One’ app also. This app can be downloaded from Google Play Store or Apple Store. This app also provides general knowledge about railways and it provides notifications like roundtrip fare concessions etc.,” the railway authorities have informed here today with public interest to make the train passengers get the top benefits out of this new integrated railway app.
