
MADURAI: The American College in Madurai has bagged the overall trophy at the VIYAN’25 inter-collegiate cultural fest hosted by Lady Doak College here on September 26th 2025 with a vibrant theme ‘Vetri Siragai Viri’ to motivate the youth towards unfurling wings of victory.
St.John’s College in Tirunelveli has emerged as runners-up while the title of Mr.Viyan was awarded to Mr.Sam Kumar of St.Joseph’s College in Tiruchi, according to a press release received from the LDC here today.
More than 800 students from 20 colleges had participated in the inter-collegiate cultural fest hosted by LDC team comprising Deans of Student Affairs Dr.S.Arokia Shyamala and Ms.Joice Rathinam E, assistant Deans of Student Affairs Dr.Jullie Prathiba J and Dr.Esther Elizabeth Grace C along with the vibrant support of LDC Student Cabinet, the press release added.
Dr.R.Beulah Jeyashree, Principal and Secretary, Lady Doak College, had inaugurated the cultural fest and the chief guest was Mr.Christopher Gnanaraj M, Director of Rise Advertising Pvt Ltd.
The Lady Doak College also honoured Arjuna awardee Ms.Jerlin Anika with a cash prize of Rs.one lakh and she is going to represent India in the Summer Deaflympics Tokyo 2025 and also in the 10th Asia Pacific Deaf Games.
Ms.K.Lavanya, cultural secretary, LDC Student Cabinet and Ms.R.Farhana, president of Student Cabinet, were among those who addressed the participants and the college team gad thanked Mrs.Nandini, Head of Programming at Mayorka Productions, who came for the valedictory ceremony and motivated the girl students to face life challenges with courage and to strive for financial independence, the press release has said.
