SPB remembered on his 5th death anniversary; Madurai pays tributes to the legendary singer

Remembering the great SPB in Madurai on September 25th 2025.

MADURAI: Glorious tributes and respects were paid to the legendary playback singer late S.P.Balasubrahmanyam on his fifth death anniversary today-September 25th 2025, as his fans and admirers in Madurai paid floral tributes to his portrait by recalling his great services with his great voice that gave splendid songs.

To mark this solemn occasion, a remembrance meet was organized at Kanchi Maha Periyava Temple in S.S.Colony in Madurai today by ‘Anushathin Anugraham’ which carries out various divine activities and service projects.

“Even though SPB had passed away during the COVID period five years back, he still lives with us through his songs and his enthralling voice. He gave us 30,000 songs and they will be heard in every nook and corner every day. We are offering our tributes to late SPB and we will remember him always,” Mr.Nellai Balu, founder of ‘Anushathin Anugraham’, has said.

His death anniversary was observed in Madurai today by singing his songs and distributing free rice to visually impaired persons. “Padma Vibhushan SPB has sung many devotional songs which give us the feel of the God. So, in our Kanchi Maha Periyava temple here, we are paying our respects to that legendary singer,” Mr.Nellai Balu added.

Auditor Mr.Sethu Mathava and past president of Rotary Club of Madurai Star Mr.Vasudevan were among those who paid floral tributes to SPB. According to a press release, the participants voluntarily took part in service activities to mark the legendary singer’s fifth death anniversary. Singers Joseph, Bharani Mahesh, Kashyap Mahesh and others sang SPB songs.
