As the country gets ready for 11th International Yoga Day celebrations, a 11th standard student from Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu draws special attention for having emerged from being a child prodigy to Yoga guruji, thanks to her passion and mission towards spreading yoga awareness.

Yes. The student K.Prisha who is just 15 years age and studying her 11th grade in Meena Sankar Vidyalaya at Tirunelveli has now positioned herself as the global girl of Yoga and her present movements and postures strongly indicate that this young girl will be the teacher of the future in the world canvas of yoga.

YOUNGEST YOGA TEACHER:

“As a mother, I feel proud and happy because Prisha has not only done several world records in yoga but she became world’s first youngest yoga teacher for the blind certified by NCPCR of Central government. She received Yoga Acharya Award from the Ministry of Ayush when she was 14 years. From Nellai (Tirunelveli), she is travelling to many nations as a specially invited guest resource person for yoga,” the proud mother Mrs.G.Devipriya told ‘Lotus Times’ while speaking about her daughter’s accomplishments and how Prisha’s father Mr.R.Karthikeyan took a keen interest to nurture her dreams and passion.

Ms.Prisha started her yoga pursuits from her nine years of age and in the last six years she has become an icon of yoga because she makes the postures appear so simple. Not just in India, this Nellai girl had done special sessions at Dubai, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand etc and many more are in the pipeline.

“She has done 101 world records and she has written a book on yoga therapy. Prisha conducted free yoga classes in Malaysian Association of Blind for 16 days, and in Dubai for 10 days. She is conducting yoga awareness camps in schools, colleges and old age homes. In Tirunelveli, she transformed many lives with her yoga training sessions for visually and mentally challenged students and yoga camps for NCC cadets. And, she took online classes during the Covid pandemic,” her mother says.

Maybe a day will come when Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi may mention Prisha’s name in his popular ‘Mann Ki Baat’ monthly radio talk because he himself is an ardent yoga follower and he always likes to narrate success stories from action the nation.
