MADURAI: Lok Sabha MP of Virudhunagar constituency Mr.B.Manickam Tagore has submitted a list of railway development proposals with a detailed representation outlining key railway related demands for the Virudhunagar constituency in order to improve train connectivity, infrastructure and create more passenger amenities in the region.
He made a few important appeals to railway authorities at the annual meeting of Members of Parliament held by the Southern Railway in Madurai today-April 24th 2025 by inviting MPs from southern districts for a wide discussion on railway projects.
The MP has requested the Southern Railway to operate MEMU services (Mainline Electric Multiple Unit) on five important regional routes starting from Madurai for short and medium distance travel on the mainline, and introduction of new train services including Sengottai-Bangalore and Madurai-Nagapattinam besides Ernakulam-Rameswaram routes via Sivakasi.
