MADURAI: Past Rotary International Director and past Trustee of Rotary Foundation Mr.Ashok Mahajan has sent a heart touching message condemning the terror attack at Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir which killed 28 innocent tourists on April 22nd 2025.

“The blood in the valley is a tragedy beyond words. Our hearts are shattered by the horrifying tragedy that took place in Pahalgam in J&k…..and 28 innocent tourists each carrying dreams and the love of life were mercilessly massacred in an act of unimaginable cruelty. These were the innocent people who went to Pahalgam to experience beauty and peace, but only to have their lives stolen in a moment of senseless violence,” Mr.Ashok Mahajan has said in his message.

AN ATTACK ON HUMANITY:

He said that the Pahalgam killing is not just an attack on individuals and it is an attack on humanity itself. “It is a sobering reminder of how fragile peace can be and how important it is to protect peace. The brutality of this act strikes at the very core of human dignity and compassion. There is no cause and no ideology,” Mr.Ashok Mahajan who is a Rotarian for the last 52 years and played a key role in eradication of polio in India has said in his statement sent to ‘Lotus Times’ media yesterday.

Condemning the cowardly act of terror in Pahalgam, he said the thoughts and prayers of all people go out to the victims, their families and all those who are grieving the terrible loss. “In the face of such darkness, we must not allow hatred to divide us. Let this tragedy deepen our resolve to stand united-across communities, nations and beliefs-in building a world where peace prevails, where justice is upheld and where no soul is ever lost to hate again,” the Past Rotary International Director Mr.Ashok Mahajan has said by stressing the essence of life with words ‘smile, serve, sacrifice, satisfy.’
