MADURAI: In a bid to speed up the tax collections, the Madurai Corporation has made an important announcement of giving tax rebate. For those who pay their property before October 31st 2024, the Madurai Municipal Corporation will give a 5 per cent discount on the tax amount.
In a press release issued here, the civic body has urged the residents and property owners in all the 100 wards of Madurai Corporation to avail this special discount and pay the property tax by October 31st 2024 to get this rebate offer. This 5 per cent discount amount will be to the maximum rebate of Rs.5,000 for the property tax payers.
“The Madurai Corporation is seeking the cooperation of people in this city for expediting various development works in Madurai. So, a special discount of 5 per cent on property tax is being given for the second half amount due for the year 2024-25 towards property tax payable to the Madurai Corporation. The corporation gets revenue from sources such as property tax, drinking water and underground drainage charges, and the discount is now being given for property tax with last date being October 31st 2024,” the press release has informed.
