MADURAI: Guest lecturers of Madurai Kamaraj University College (MKU College) took out a protest at their college campus in Madurai today- on August 9th 2024- in support of the State-wide Government Arts College Guest Lecturers Coordinating Committee that had called for a hunger strike for the demands of college guest lecturers and staff.
Today afternoon, the MKU guest lecturers had assembled and staged a protest at around 1 pm making their demand that Rs.50,000 per month should be paid as monthly salary to all guest lecturers part time lecturers working in MKU College at Alagarkoil Road in Madurai, by following equal pay for equal work as per court orders.
“It has been more than 10 months since the majority of teaching and non-teaching staff working in MKU College have paid their Employees Provident Fund contribution….from the date of joining. Therefore, along with our EPF contribution amount, the EPF contribution amount payable by the college administration to the PF should be paid immediately and credited to the EPF account,” the MKU College staff had demanded here today on August 9th 2024.
