Vice-Chancellors conference on May 27th & 28th: Important issues coming up for discussion in eight sessions

MADURAI: A two-day conference of Vice-Chancellors of all State universities and private universities in Tamil Nadu will take place at Udhagamandalam on 27th and 28th May 2024.

Detailed deliberations and discussions on a gamut of issues connected to higher education, institution development, capacity building etc are in the agenda of this VCs conference.

Mr.R.N.Ravi, Tamil Nadu Governor and Chancellor, will deliver the presidential address at inaugural and valedictory sessions of this conference while UGC Chairman Prof.M.Jagadesh Kumar will deliver special address at the inaugural session of the Vice-Chancellors conference, according to a press release received from Raj Bhavan in Chennai today.

SESSIONS AND TOPICS SCHEDULED:

On the first day of the conference, the sessions scheduled include ‘Institution Development Plan-Vision Document for Universities’ by Dr.S.Vaidhyasubramaniam, Vice-Chancellor of SASTRA University and a session on ‘Innovation and Entrepreneurship’ by Ms.Sruthi Kannan, Engineering Leader, CISCO, besides two other sessions.

On the second day, there will be a session on ‘Capacity Building for Faculty Members towards emerging industrial requirements’ by Prof.R.Velraj, Vice-Chancellor of Anna University and Dr.G.Ravi, Vice-Chancellor of Alagappa University and three more sessions other experts.

ALL VICE-CHANCELLORS WILL SPEAK:

The Raj Bhavan press release issued today- on May 25th 2024 has also informed that Vice-Chancellors of State universities will give presentations on ‘Best Practices adopted by the universities’. Experience sharing by students/scholars who have qualified in NET or UGC-CSIR tests and obtained Junior Research Fellowship has also been scheduled.

Vice-Chancellors of all State universities, private universities and Central universities/institutions in Tamil Nadu will participate in this two-days conference, the press release added.
