According to MKU sources, the Vice-Chancellor had given a hint to a few university officers a couple of days back that he wants to step down and get relieved from the VC post due to personal reasons, health grounds and for his next level of academic teaching journey.

This matter, however, was not yet taken up with the Higher Education Secretary even as the university and academic circles in Madurai are buzzing with rumours and speculation is rife that the VC is planning to go to Chennai soon to discuss with top level higher education officials.
