10 demands of PG teachers in Tamil Nadu: Association calls for fast on November 25th

MADURAI: The Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary Post Graduate Teachers Association (TNHSPGTA) has announced a one-day fast in all districts in the State on November 25th 2023- Saturday- to press for their important 10 demands and draw the attention of State government.

A meeting in this regard to discuss about the PG teachers’ ten demands was held at Al-Ameen Higher Secondary School in K.Pudur in Madurai on November 13th 2023. Mr.V.Manivasagan, association State president, had addressed the members and PG teachers who came from various districts to attend this meeting- Madurai, Virudhunagar, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari districts.

According to a press release received from the association here yesterday, the 10 demands of higher secondary PG teachers include rectifying the salary fixation from June 2009, implementation of old pension scheme by scrapping the contributory pension scheme (CPS), stop public examinations for Plus One and reduce the syllabus by 30 per cent for Plus One and Plus Two classes.

Among those who spoke at the meeting were associations’ State general secretary Mr.R.Prabhakaran, State legal advisor Mr.Siva Rajendran, Madurai district president R.Satheeshkumar, district secretary N.Murali and Headmaster of Al-Ameen Higher Secondary School Mr.Sheik Nabi.
