Agro Food MoU by MKU

MADURAI: The Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) here and the Agro Food Trade Center in Madurai have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 30th January 2023 to increase the competitiveness of agro food clusters. This MoU will work towards generating a synergistic effect on domestic and international agro food trade markets and academia.

Prof.J.Kumar, MKU Vice-Chancellor has said that the varsity has a wealth of resources and potential that can be used through industry collaboration for consulting services, entrepreneurship, research and updated academic programs that are needed for current scenario. Mr.S.Rethinavelu, chairman and managing director of Agro Food Trade Centre (AFTC), had emphasized the significance of industry-institute partnership in addressing the challenges faced by industries.

Dr.K.Sadasivam, Registrar in-charge of MKU, has signed the MoU on behalf of the university while Mr.S.Rethinavelu signed for AFTC. The MoU signing ceremony was attended by university Syndicate members Dr.M.Thangaraj, Dr.S.Nagarathinam, Dr.Rathinasabapathy and Dr.Munian, besides heads of various departments and AFTC’s senior representatives.

Dr.M.Ramaswami, MKU Special Officer, welcomed the gathering and S.Ilayaraja, assistant professor in Department of Management Studies-DDE MKU, had proposed a vote of thanks.
