MADURAI: A massive intensive cleanliness drive has commenced at the Madurai Railway Division office premises in Madurai today – on 16th September 2021 Thursday- under the ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’. This cleanliness programme of railway stations and railway premises will be done extensively for two weeks as a fortnight work from 16th September to 30th September. On the first day today, the ‘Swachh Bharat’ cleanliness drive was initiated by Mr.P.Anand, Divisional Railway Manager of Madurai Division-Southern Railway.
The DRM had also administered a pledge to railway officials and staff stressing the importance of maintaining cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation in railway stations, railway offices and all railway premises. A press release received from the Southern Railway Madurai Division here on 16th September 2021 has said that the pledge had pointed out the citizens’ duty to remain committed towards cleanliness and voluntarily devote 100 hours per year to work for cleanliness. “The message of ‘Swachh Bharat Mission will be propagated in villages and towns also,” the pledge taken by railway employees in Madurai has added.
