MADURAI: A genuine request is coming in from professors, all faculty and non-teaching staff of Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) here for maintaining the sanctity and decorum of MKU Guest House and its huge campus here.
On 27th July 2020, several voices from within the campus have raised objections over certain activities that have been taking place since 2015 and the manner in which a PWD Assistant Engineer has been functioning as Campus Development Officer (CDO) of the university.
“There is a person called Anand (PWD Assistant Engineer) who is working in an autonomous way in our university. The post of CDO should actually be held by a senior university professor because his role is to work for university campus development in a holistic manner. We request the Tamil Nadu Government and the MKU Vice-Chancellor Dr.M.Krishnan to appoint a university senior professor as Campus Development Officer,” atleast 10 university staff told ‘Lotus Times’ news website today evening- on 27th July 2020.
Several questions and suspicions are are being raised about assistant engineer ‘autonomous Anand’ from the PWD because of court cases, burning of files and documents, missing of evidence in important cases etc where his name is there.
“How can Anand be our Campus Development Officer. It will be shame if is in-charge of MKU guest house supply and service. Anand should be removed as Campus Development Officer. We want MKU professor in that post. Guest House is not a supply and service unit,” an experienced MKU staff who has been watching the campus proceedings had lamented.
Will VC Prof.M.Krishnan act now? Very disturbing things are coming out from the MKU guest house familiar staff who are demanding that A supply and service come to and end soon in this prestigious campus because the prevailing view is that Anand should go and university professor must take control for varsity’s image.
