MADURAI: JAI JAWAN JAI KISAN. This slogan of India’s great former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri is always an inspiration to all Indians. I read an article in Indian Express newspaper in late 80s of the interview given by Smt.Lalitha Shastri, wife of Lal Bahadur Shastri.
I wrote a letter to her residence in New Delhi from Kalpakkam in Tamil Nadu when I was a college student. She had immediately replied to me and sent to me an autographed picture of Shastri Ji, appreciating me for remembering the former great PM Lal Bahadur Shastri ji.
When I became a reporter, I met his son Shri Anil Shastri in Chennai in the year 2002 at a press conference and expressed my association with that great family that worked for India as a patriot and as a Prime Minister. I still remember the great moments with that great family. JAI JAWAN JAI KISAN. JAI LAL BAHADUR JAI INDIA.
