MADURAI: A CISF guard on duty at Madurai airport had tested positive for Corona infection here today.
Sources said that the young guard belonging to Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was now admitted in the corona ward at Government Rajaji Hospital (GRH) in Madurai – 6th June 2020.
COVID test was done for him yesterday and he had tested positive, sources said. Another seven CISF security personnel staying with him in the CISF camp room had undergone tests. It was learnt that another jawan too is suspected to have corona positive.
Health Department officials are on alert along with airport and CISF personnel. There are around 250 CISF guards who are working in three shifts for security of Madurai airport.
