MADURAI: To provide variety and taste to food supplied in ‘Amma Canteens’, the regular menu has been added with Vegetable Biriyani and egg in Madurai from today- 8th April 2020.
Minister for Cooperation Mr.Sellur K.Raju and Madurai Corporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan along with senior officials, today visited the Amma Canteen at Aarapalayam area here and had food there.
“The Madurai Corporation took steps to enrich the menu by adding vegetable biryani, mushroom biryani and boiled egg for the sake of people who are dependent on Amma Canteens for their food. Egg is free…..Since non-vegetarian is now not there, the corporation wants to give people atleast egg. This is a good initiative,” Minister Mr.Sellur K.Raju told reporters today.
To help the people affected by Corona lockdown and Section 144 restrictions, food is being provided free through Amma Canteens for needy people and sanitary workers. So far, 1,44,537 people had food in Amma Canteens in Madurai in last 10 days in 12 Amma Canteens here.
City Engineer Mr.Arasu, PRO Chithravel and other corporation officials were present during the Minister’s inspection in Mela Ponnagaram- Aarapalayam area today.
