MADURAI: Expecting that the rush at Amma Canteens will be more in view of Section 144 being implemented all over the State from tomorrow, Madurai Corporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan today inspected them at various places in the city.
On 23rd March 2020, the Corporation Commissioner had visited the Amma Canteens at Thideer Nagar, Pudur, GRH and Gandhipuram. Amma canteens are being kept open by the corporation for the beenfit of common people despite the restrictions and precautions being taken to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. From 6 pm tomorrow, Section 144 is being implemented across Tamil Nadu till 31st March 2020.
Mr.S.Visakan told the canteen staff to deploy more workers for the canteens, if required, to meet the demand and rush for food in the canteens. Among those who were present during the inspection include Assistant Commissioner Mr.Premkumar, Health Officer Mr.Rajakannan and others.
