MADURAI: The people of Madurai today confined to their homes extending their full support to the ‘Janata Curfew’ call given by Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi in order to contain the spread of Coronavirus- COVID-19.
On 22nd March 2020, Sunday, the ever bustling temple city Madurai came to a grinding halt as all activities have been suspended for the day. Flights, trains and buses were already cancelled. Commercial establishments, shops, malls and private offices did not open as per the Government advisory.
With today’s self-imposed curfew and voluntary participation, the Janta – the people of Madurai gave a strong message to the Corona that the days of this virus are numbered.
