MADURAI: As per the call given by the party’s top leadership to follow every Tuesday as ‘Booth Day’ giving focus to strengthen the party at booth level in Madurai city, the booth meetings of three booths in Ward 45 in Madurai city (Pudur area) were held on August 8th 2017(Tuesday).
A team of BJP office-bearers had a meeting to plan for the programmes to be conducted in the next three weeks and the issues that were brought to the party’s attention by the general public in K.Pudur – D.R.O.Colony areas in Madurai city.
The three booths covered in this meeting were Booth numbers 88 and 98 and 101 and all three booths are in Ward 45 of Madurai Corporation. Areas that were represented include Kannimariamman Koil Street area, Ramavarma Nagar Third Street surroundings and D.R.O.Colony Madurai.
INDEPENDENCE DAY:
Pudur Mandal BJP president Mr.R.Jothi Manivannan alias Sankar, Mrs.K.Meenambigai, BJP Women’s Wing district president and Mrs.K.Sunitha Mallady, BJP district secretary (parent body), were among those who attended the booth committee meeting that began at 7 p.m.on August 8th 2017.
Mrs.Meenambigai explained about the women’s wing plans to tie ‘rakhis’ to police brothers in police stations in Madurai city on August 15th after completing the Independence Day function.
“This is planned as Raksha Bandhan programme and we will cover various police stations in the city including Pudur, Tallakulam, Anna Nagar etc,” Mrs.Meenambigai informed.
VISIT OF H.RAJA TO MADURAI:
Mandal president Mr.Sankar spoke on GST and how the party should explain to the public about its benefits in the long run to India’s economy. The visit of BJP National Secretary Mr.H.Raja to Madurai on August 13th (Sunday) to speak on GST and its benefits was discussed in this meeting.
The Women’s Wing district president also briefed the booth and ward office-bearers about the visit of BJP State president Dr.Tamilisai Soundararajan to Madurai city on August 27th and the events planned by the BJP district women’s wing.
P.Sathya, Women’s Wing Pudur Mandal president, Mr.Durai Maran, Ward president, A.Kalirajan, Ward secretary, E.Praveen Raj, Youth Wing district executive committee member (BJYM) and V.Sankaranarayanan, booth office-bearer, were among those who attended the booth level meeting on Tuesday (August 8th 2017).
