MADURAI: Senior BJP leader and Union Minister of State Mr.Pon.Radhakrishnan had lashed out at the two major Dravidian parties in the State for having failed to further develop Tamil Nadu from where it was in the year 1967 and accused them of using castes and communities as merely vote banks for electoral / political gains.
“For 50 years these two parties ruled this State. What did the DMK and AIADMK do to you? People from many deserving communities especially like Devendrakula Velalar community were badly affected due to lack of socio-economic development agenda for Dravidian parties. So, it is time for the people of Tamil Nadu to elect BJP government so that we can show good progress in just 10 years like what happened in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh under BJP rule,” he said.
Mr.Pon.Radhakrishnan was speaking at a meeting in Madurai on July 6th 2017 where hundreds of people from Devendrakula Vellalar community had joined the BJP by expressing confidence that it will be only Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi’s commitment that would provide social justice to all sections of people in the country.
The Union Minister had questioned what the DMK and AIADMK have done since the year 1967 for Tamil Nadu to develop industries, employment for youth and agriculture. “What was the position of Tamil Nadu in the country’s rankings in 1967 when Dravidian rule started ruling here? Why did this State fail to progress further in these five decades? Everywhere there is a BJP government, see other States and let us work to bring BJP government in Tamil Nadu also,” he appealed.

NO CASTE POLITICS :
Mr.Pon.Radhakrishnan had stated that people should demand a complete account and progress card of both the Dravidian parties which took people for a ride for 50 years when they were in power.
“BJP unites people and our party will not discriminate on the basis of caste. Let us take a pledge today to bring disciplined party BJP to power in Tamil Nadu,” he told the large gathering of Devendra community people. The Union Minister reminded them that it was Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi who stood solidly by the side of Devendrars when a large group met him in New Delhi in September 2015 to represent their demands.
Mr.P.Muralidhar Rao, BJP’s national general secretary, Shri.Kesava Vinayagam, State organising general secretary, Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan, BJP State secretary, Mr.Saseeraman, Madurai urban district president, Mr.Maha.Suseendhram Madurai Rural district president and Mrs. A.R.Mahalakshmi, BJP Mahila Morcha State president, were among those who were present at the ‘Devendrars for BJP’ meeting in Madurai Thirupparankundram on July 6th 2017 evening.
