MADURAI: The district administration and health authorities are now on complete alert in Madurai since evening following a Corona positive case confirmed for a family member of a priest in Meenakshi Temple in Madurai today- 23rd April 2020.
All the priests and their family members have been immediately called for medical tests. Also, the police personnel on duty inside the Meenakshi temple, temple staff, health workers there were asked to come to undergo COVID-19 tests.
Inside the temple, the Madurai Corporation has started intensive sanitisation and spraying of disinfectants in temple premises. The travel history and contact details are being taken now.
