MADURAI: The apex body of higher education in India – University Grants Commission (UGC) – has sent a note to the Vice-Chancellors of all universities in the country to take immediate steps and ensure that eligible academic staff do not face delay in promotion under the Career Advancement Scheme.
The ‘Lotustimes’ English news website today received a copy of the UGC’s letter to the Vice-Chancellors on CAS urging them to decide on all pending promotion cases at the earliest. The letter was signed by Mr.Rajnish Jain, secretary, UGC, under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, New Delhi.
